Condition: Fair. No Edition Remarks. 282 pages. No dust jacket. Grey cloth boards with lettering. Contains black and white illustrations. Clean pages and illustrations with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front free endpaper. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is darkened. Moderate sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Book has a slight forward lean. Visible wear marks to boards.

Blanche Baughan (1870-1958) was an English poet, social reformer and feminist who settled in New Zealand in 1900 living the rest of her life there. She received the King George V Jubilee Medal in 1935. The volume is a collection of essays: The Finest Walk in the World; Snow Kings of the Southern Alps; Uncanny Country; A River of Pictures and Peace; Summit Road; Forest and Ice; and Stars Under the Earth. Very good clean copy of this interesting book.

Bound in the original printed paper covers with yapped edges, just under 8 inches tall approx., 40 pages with illustrations. The covers are noticeably darkened and the yapped edges are worn and creased, internally some noticeable staining that affects the opening and closing few pages.
