AUTHOR: After completing a Masters degree in history at Trinity College, Dublin Marcus de la Poer Beresford qualified as a lawyer and practised with A & L Goodbody in Dublin. Since retirement he has returned to the study of history, researching, writing and lecturing on aspects of the Napoleonic Wars.
