Downey Fecit 1907" [presumably British artist Alfred James Downey] printed at bookplate's bottom margin; Downey design comprised of knight's helmet atop crest shield with latter crisscrossed by sword and scepter. Front and rear hinges shaken with front free endpaper and front flyleaf now detached and laid-in. Text block otherwise remains firmly bound. Insurance company ink stamp on front flyleaf recto, title page, and rear free endpaper recto; first several leaves have shallow chips at their fore-edge margins.
