Es wurde davon ausgegangen, daß das Übertragungsverhalten eines Hörgerätes weitgehend linear ist. Da die modernen Hörgeräte jedoch durch die vielfältigen Einstellmöglichkeiten ein komplett nichtlineares Verhalten aufweisen, sind die in dieser Norm angegebenen Maßverfahren für die modernen Hörgeräte nicht mehr brauchbar. Zur Verbesserung wurde ein Verfahren vorgeschlagen, welches auf eine Veröffentlichung von Julius G. Bendat zurückgeht. Dieser hat schon 1962 die theoretischen Grundlagen geschaffen, um nichtlineare Systeme mit Hilfe von stochastischem Rauschen bestimmen zu können.Das Ziel dieser Diplomarbeit soll sein, das von Bendat vorgeschlagene Verfahren zur Bestimmung von nichtlinearen Systemen auf die Ermittlung der Übertragungsfunktion moderner Hörgeräte anzuwenden, die erhaltenen Ergebnisse zu deuten und letztendlich einen automatischen Meßablauf zu programmieren, um das Übertragungsverhalten eines beliebigen Hörgerätes 'auf Knopfdruck' zu erhalten. Dadurch sollen die Voraussetzungen geschaffen werden, ein einfach zu bedienendes Gerät zur Messung von Hörgeräten herzustellen.
