Add to basketNo Binding. Condition: As New. An original Finnish tour poster for Born to the West (1937). This early John Wayne Paramount western made it to Finland only in 1953 under the re-release title 'Hell Town', dating this poster to late 1953 or early 1954. This is almost certainly the only film poster in the world to feature both John Wayne and Charlie Chaplin. As Hell Town had a short running time, Chaplin's 1917 short The Adventurer was added to the programme as a filler - and duly appears on this poster, complete with two Chaplin images and the announcement, "In addition, the Charlie Chaplin delight, The Adventurer." An extraordinary double-bill document. Tour poster format, non-standard size at approximately 19.5 × 13.75 inches, slightly smaller than a standard Finnish tour poster. Condition: C10, Mint. Not a grading assigned lightly. Distributed rolled or flat, no folding creases, no nicks or tears, no staining, no handling creases, no pinholes, no paste residue, no clamping marks. Verso unmarked. Unquestionably unused. Two microscopic printing flaws only: tiny specks on the red/dark areas where ink did not distribute evenly; a faint blue tinge to part of Wayne's shirt from ink transfer from the titles below. Unquestionably one of the finest-condition 1950s Finnish posters we have handled.…
