Usually published under the title A JOURNEY FROM LA TRAPPE TO ROME, this is a work by Trappist monk Ferdinand de Geramb (1772-1848). After being imprisoned by Napoleon as a lieutenant-general for Austria, the nobleman Geramb entered a monastery and eventually became procurator-general of La Trappe. This copy belonged to Archbishop John B. Purcell of Cincinnati (1800-1883), whose signature is on the title page. In the back are foldout charts listing schools, hospitals, and other institutions in Rome.…

Add to basketrigide.
