The cloth shows considerable edgewear and rubbing, with a slightly sunned spine and surface dampstaining to the rear cover, which fortunately did not penetrate beyond. Hinges solid; binding square. Former owner's name in perncil to the front free endpaper, faint foxng to the prelims, otherwise unmarked. This copy still has a decent shelf appearance. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Hardcover, very good, no dustjacket. Corners bumped with a bit of cardboard exposed there, some soil on cloth, slight scuffing on paste-down, spine faded with approximately 1/8 inch fraying at foot. Internally, a bit shaken, with front hinge starting to crack, previous owner's name and address rubber stamped on endpapers, paper lightly age yellowed, 1/4 inch hole on lower margin of one leaf (text unaffected) , otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Sports stories about upper middle class school boys playing football, baseball, and gambling on the outcome of a fight between a terrier dog and rats. Children's; modern first; dog fighting.
