Irving Way. Edward FitzGerald, (born March 31, 1809, Bredfield, near Woodbridge, Suffolk, Eng. - died June 14, 1883, Merton, Norfolk), English writer, best known for his Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam, which, though it is a very free adaptation and selection from the Persian poet's verses, stands on its own as a classic of English literature. It is one of the most frequently quoted of lyric poems, and many of its phrases, such as 'A jug of wine, a loaf of bread, and thou' and 'The moving finger writes,' passed into common currency. - Britannica.

Bower, was an American author who wrote n…ovels, fictional short stories, and screenplays about the American Old West. Her works, featuring cowboys and cows of the Flying U Ranch in Montana, reflected "an interest in ranch life, the use of working cowboys as main characters (even in romantic plots), the occasional appearance of eastern types for the sake of contrast, a sense of western geography as simultaneously harsh and grand, and a good deal of factual attention to such matters as cattle branding and bronc busting.
