This publication is a reprint of an article originally published in the February 10, 1924 issue of the Lumber World Review. (It was subsequently reprinted in 1981 by the Lincoln County Historical Society). It gives a detailed history of the C.D. Johnson Lumber Co., it's founders, and the men behind the operation; it's noted for the fact that the American military's need for spruce logs for wooden airplane construction in World War I, led to the industrial development in Lincoln County.
