A celebration of the many facets of Pacific Spruce Corporation and its varied activities. 10.25 x 13.5 in. 93pp., with many b/w photos of lumber mills, lumbering, railroads, etc., the majority by the noted "Forest Fotographer" John D. Cress, including shots of lumbermen, lumber cre…ws, and mills. Original light green yapp-edge wraps with embossed titles on the front. A touch of wear, else a nice copy in Very Good condition. This publication is a reprint of an article originally published in the February 10, 1924 issue of the Lumber World Review. (It was subsequently reprinted in 1981 by the Lincoln County Historical Society). It gives a detailed history of the C.D. Johnson Lumber Co., it's founders, and the men behind the operation; it's noted for the fact that the American military's need for spruce logs for wooden airplane construction in World War I, led to the industrial development in Lincoln County.
