Aber mit jeder Zeile, die ich las, wurde mir die Bedeutung des Themas bewusster. Das Buch belegt mit harten Fakten, dass wir Angler ein harter wirtschaftlicher Faktor sind, dass wir wichtig für die Ökologie der Gewässer sind und dass wir bei entsprechender Organisation politisch auch etwas erreichen können. Für diese Ansätze gebührt dem Autor Dank, auch wenn sich das Buch stellenweise etwas wissenschaftlich liest. Wer weniger Fakten und mehr Poesie mag, kann allerdings zum Ausgleich auch den schönen Angelroman Lachsfischen im Jemen lesen.
