Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a collection of Antonio Cammelli's lyrical and dramatic works, penned under the name 'Pistoia.' A notable figure in the late 15th-century Italian literary landscape, the author's satirical and facetious verse found favor with notable patrons like Isabella d'Este. Known primarily for his humorous and biting sonnets, Pistoia's work also encompassed political critique, a tragedy shaped by Boccaccio's Decameron, and several other dramatic texts. These writings provide insightful commentary on the social and political climate of their time, notably exemplified in his 23 scathing anti-Ariosto sonnets. The book thus offers a rich exploration of Pistoia's literary output, shedding light on the development of Italian satire and the broader literary landscape of the era. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
