Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Elias never wanted to become a vampire. After a frustrating Northern summer learning how to be a proper fledgling, an ultimatum looms: If he can't embrace his new reality, both his place in the coven and his relationship with Dorian are in jeopardy. Elias's grace period is over, and being a valuable member of the coven demands more than skill with his teeth.A clansfolk ambush pulls Elias between his old life as a Maewag clansman and his new one as a Tanarang vampire, and a calamity has more than just Elias seeking sanctuary with the lone benevolent coven of the North. Homeless clansfolk and enemy vampires alike converge in a cramped castle held tightly in the fists of the so-called noble coven, 300 years removed from the sanctuary and charity they once championed.Beyond their mountains stirs a cryptic Southern threat, the likes of which have not been seen since the sun disappeared from the Northern skies. For a vampire is a vampire, a monster that must eat, and they have just the weapon to hit the North where it hurts: their blood slaves. Covens, clansfolk, and blood slaves collide under a brutal Northern winter, the ghosts of dead romances, and the whispered threats of a cryptic Southern cult. Friends turn enemies and enemies turn lovers in this sequel to Eternal Night. This item is printed on demand. Condition: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 472 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | This book introduces the human right to adequate food and nutrition as evolving concept and identifies two structural "disconnects" fueling food insecurity for a billion people, and disproportionally affecting women, children, and rural food producers: the separation of women's rights from their right to adequate food and nutrition, and the fragmented attention to food as commodity and the medicalization of nutritional health. Three conditions arising from these disconnects are discussed: structural violence and discrimination frustrating the realization of women's human rights, as well as their private and public contributions to food and nutrition security for all; many women's experience of their and their children's simultaneously independent and intertwined subjectivities during pregnancy and breastfeeding being poorly understood in human rights law and abused by poorly-regulated food and nutrition industry marketing practices; and the neoliberal economic system's interference both with the autonomy and self-determination of women and their communities and with the strengthening of sustainable diets based on democratically governed local food systems. The book calls for a social movement-led reconceptualization of the right to adequate food toward incorporating gender, women's rights, and nutrition, based on the food sovereignty framework.
