No obstante, todo lo referido a la producción, distribución y consumo de alimentos ocupó una posición nuclear y continua entre las inquietudes de las sociedades pasadas, no solo en el ámbito familiar, sino también desde una vertiente política, de ahí la necesidad de abordar en profundidad este tipo de cuestiones. En los últimos años los historiadores parecen haber mostrado una mayor sensibilidad hacia la importancia de la alimentación para una compresión holística de las sociedades pasadas, siendo frecuentes en los últimos años los congresos y publicaciones consagrados a este tema. Desde la Asociación de Jóvenes Historiadores hemos querido tomar el testigo de esta tendencia con el objetivo, precisamente, de reclamar ese papel protagonista de la alimentación en las dinámicas políticas, económicas, sociales y culturales a lo largo de la Historia. Bajo el título de este volumen, La Alimentación en la Historia, se pretende alcanzar una mejor comprensión de los desafíos actuales referidos a este tema y contribuir a resolverlos desde el pensamiento crítico y el análisis profundo de las causas y consecuencias de las problemáticas sociales y políticas, aportando para ello un enfoque transversal e interdisciplinar. *** Nota: Los envíos a España peninsular, Baleares y Canarias se realizan a través de mensajería urgente.
