The original leather covers are in excellent shape---full Morocco, with bright gilt lettering on the spine and decorative gilt lines; just a touch of rubbing to the extreme edges. The interior is pristine; the paper is of a high quality and the essays contain much that is still pertinent today. The original slipcase is very good, with curved leather tips protecting the head and tail of the book's spine.
