He remained a spokesman for the weak and a critic of society throughout his time as a writer. This volume contains 10 of his novelettes, earliest first published 1879. This collection is published as a volume in 'Harper's Master Tales Series.' Translated from the Norwegian by William Archer with introduction by H.H. Boyesen. Copyright 1891.
