Hardcover, 1016 pages. Reprint of the enlarged edition (Pittsburgh, 1856), compiled by Albach and edited by James H. Perkins (Howes P-231). Ex-library, library blindstamp & minor notations. Condition of the binding is Poor: missing backstrip replaced by cloth tape attached to boads, boards scuffed on edges, split hinges. Condition of the text is Good: paper moderately browning, dampstain on top & bottom edges affects final 160 or so pages.

Full-Leather. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1856, 1016pp, 3rd ed., corners bumped & worn, covers are nearly detached, both hanging on by only one thread, spine is missing, rubbing, scuffing, & shelfwear to cover, owner's name to front free ep, waterstain affects bottom corner of allo pgs (minimal text affected), another affects top corner (affecting about 1/4 of the page) of about 300 pgs in the middle of the book, a few more pgs are affected in just margin at top corner, slight foxing to some pgs, binding is still fairly tight, consider this a reading/research copy.

Hardcover. Condition: g. Large octavo. xl, 1016 pp. Full leather binding protected by modern plastic cover. Bumping to head and foot of spine, as well as a small closed tear to foot of spine. Binding has been reinforced with masking tape. Some pages have been similarly repaired. Small stain to bottom right corner of first few pages. Book is in good condition.

Front & rear boards have both been repaired with brown cloth tape to reattch the boards & reinforce the outer gutters.Front & rear hinges have also been repaired with white cloth hinge tape. Sp ine has several chips although the title label is present and still re adable. Some scattered foxing inside but otherwise unmarked and now qu ite solid. A decent repaired copy .

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. double-page map (illustrator). First edition. 8vo, [20], 592 pages, contemporary full calf, leather label, rehinged. Second Printing. Perkins may have edited this and the best opinions say that Albach probably compiled it as well as publishing it. Includes a Chronological Table, and a List of Sources. "It is a great collection of details of frontier warfare; but contains little material that is new, or indeed not published in a hundred forms, yet it is much esteemed as a history of Western Settlement -Field 18." [Howes P231, listing the first printing as 1846; not in Graff; Sabin 60954]. Double-page map of Louisiana and the Valley of the Mississippi; map of Kentucky by John Filson. Howes reports Albach as the actual compiler, and Perkins merely the editor.

Full Sheep Leather. Condition: Fair. Second Edition. SECOND EDITION. Full sheep leather with raised bands and label on spine and hand written "1852" date in the compartments. Spine chipped at bottom and a edges. Moderate to shelfwear elsewhere and covers have been reinforced inside at gutter with white cloth tape. Relatively well attached. Overall a FAIR PLUS to GOOD MINUS. This includes expanded and revised information from the first edition. It was, unusually, published in Saint Lous and includes the Great Fire and other Saint Louis & regional history. 818pp. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover.
