Jennifer Marchand

Jennifer Marchand, MA, CCC, RCAT, is a certified trauma specialist and EMDRIA-approved consultant with over 10 years of clinical experience in a diverse range of settings and cultural contexts. Through her private practice and work with international organizations, she specializes in sexual violence, conflict-related trauma, generational trauma, and the treatment of vicarious traumatization in front-line and healthcare workers. Based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia since 2021, she is dedicated to the field of global mental health and working in underserved settings. Jennifer currently supports frontline Ethiopian staff working with survivors of conflict-related sexual violence (a project funded by the German Development Cooperation GIZ). She is also a trauma advisor to Medica Mondiale, an international women’s rights organization, where she supports training on trauma sensitivity for health professionals in conflict-affected settings, such as Kurdistan and Kosovo.

Jennifer is a returning lecturer at Heidelberg University’s Public Health in Emergencies program and an alumnus of the Harvard Refugee Trauma Program. She has also worked with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation, an organization in Hanoi, Vietnam, supporting a team of psychologists working with survivors of human trafficking.
