Barbara Kingsley

Barbara Kingsley, a retired English teacher, has dabbled lifelong in the arts. Her deep love of theatre propelled her to write an experience. Dancer, actor, mother, educator turned writer, Barbara’s cumulative passion pours forth in her first novel, Avon’s August. Kingsley's first novel took six years from inception to publishing. Much more than expected was absorbed during the six year apprenticeship with her first editor and mentor, KC Moffatt.

A Girl Named Coincidence came about shortly after publishing her first. Her new editor, Tarra Thomas, told Barbara she'd expect to see a first draft in six months. Barbara was floored, but the message must have stuck because here it is in under one year.

In addition to writing, Barbara is an avid cook and a consummate baker. She lives with her life partner, Cecelia, in Gettysburg, PA. They fill their days between home and the eastern coastline.

The two ping pong from one community to another in the travel weather, taking in the sights from NY to FL. They are constantly in pursuit of the best bagel and/or biscuit gravy.
