Robin A. Deutsch, PhD, a psychologist and psychoanalyst, is Member and Faculty of the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis where she currently serves as President of the Center. Dr. Deutsch previously served as President of the International Psychoanalytical Studies Organization. She has written and presented on the development of analytic identity and authority, therapist subjectivity, and analyst illness and death. She has taught courses on analytic listening, termination, as well as Relational Theory. Additionally, she has taught extensively about the ways in which the therapist’s personal life impacts his/her professional life. Dr. Deutsch maintains a private practice of psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and consultation in Oakland, California.
