Professor Gandhi has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees for more than 25 years. He is a senior consultant radiologist at the largest tertiary care teaching hospital and regional trauma unit in the South West England. Dr. Sanjay Gandhi is committed to providing high quality, evidence-based modern healthcare to his patients. He has received consistently high ratings from his colleagues for providing excellent patient care.

His distinguished 30 years medical career spans across the UK, India, and the USA and he holds three radiology postgraduate degrees.

Dr Gandhi has co-authored and edited 8 medical textbooks and won the prestigious British Medical Association (BMA) Highly Commended Book Editor Award. He is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees at the University of Bristol and the University of West of England for over 17 years. As Visiting Professor, he also teaches at Commonwealth Universities.

Professor Gandhi has been the lead radiologist for haematology cancers team for the past 14 years at his trust and involved in numerous research projects and multicenter collaborative clinical trials. He has regularly published articles and research papers in major journals such as the British Journal of Radiology (BJR), British Journal of Hospital Medicine (BJHM) and British Medical Journal (BMJ). Professor Gandhi serves on the Editorial Boards of 4 peer-reviewed Journals. He is a frequently invited speaker and moderator at major international conferences in the UK and the USA.

His special expertise is in the Healthcare-IT and innovations. As an adviser to a number of medium to large international healthcare organization, Professor Gandhi has helped in the development of innovative PACS and IT solutions. In 2008, he established a new University lecture programme to teach Tele-Health, Tele-Radiology, Robotic Surgery, Computer Aided Detection (CAD) and other new medical developments. Dr Gandhi is also the Lead Radiologist for teaching iPhone and iPad Apps 'Rapid Reporting Tool' for the FRCR Exam, and an App called 'Diagnoster'. These are one of the most advanced Apps available for FRCR exam and X-ray teaching.

As a regional panellist for the Royal College of Radiologists' Fellowship Exam Questions, he is one of the most prolific contributors to Exams since 1999. He has also contributed to the development of the National Imaging Guidelines for the UK. Dr Gandhi served as the College Tutor for the Royal College of Radiologists for more than 8 years and now handed this responsibility to his junior consultant colleagues. Dr Gandhi is the Representative of the Royal College of Radiologists’ (RCR) on Consultant Radiologists appointments panels. Professor Gandhi is President of the International Tele-Imaging Education & Research Organisation (www.teleimaging.org) and Regional Vice-Chairman of the British Institute of Radiology.

Professor Gandhi is always willing to share his knowledge and expertise widely through conference lectures, textbooks, articles and editorials. His vast academic contributions have been recognized at national and international levels. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (UK) in 2010, received the Academic Excellence Award from the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin in 2013 and the Global Indian of the Year - Academics, UK Award from Times Now TV Network in 2016.
