Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the principles of unity in the episcopate as a way of exploring the relationship between the Church of England and the Roman Catholic Church. The author argues that the Church of England's claims to be in schism are unfounded, and that its separation from Rome is based on a misunderstanding of the nature of the episcopate. The book draws on the writings of the early Church Fathers and councils to support its arguments, and explores the theological and historical dimensions of the relationship between the two churches. Ultimately, the book argues that the unity of the episcopate is essential to the unity of the Church, and that the Church of England's separation from Rome is a violation of this principle.
