The leather boards are blackened on the spine and along the top and front edges of the boards and may well have been in a fire. Both boards are still attached though the leather is cracked at the hinges. Inside pages all appear present but the top 1.5 inches of the title page has been neatly removed just above "SPECTATOR.". Some foxing but only a hint of some water. No indication of authors/compilers (Addison & Steele) nor of publishers. List of subscribers on title page starting with C. Bathruft.
