The photos show the condition better than I can describe but overall I believe the book is in Very Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with only lightly softened corners an…d spine ends. The gilt lettering on the spine and boards is intact. The page edges are toned but the interior text block and pages are clean. There is 104 pages of text plus 16 pages of adverts at the end. The text block is firmly attached to the binding but is starting to loosen in places at the seam - this isn't really an issue but I mention for completeness. The title page states the year of publication as 1897 and it states SECOND EDITION on the spine.
