Buch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - Non coding RNAs (ncRNAs) consist of a large portion of poly-A tailed mature RNAs. They are single stranded molecules, which are involved in the regulation of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level in a cell. There are two types of ncRNAs, which are regulatory ncRNAs and infrastructural ncRNAs. Small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), microRNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are the four types of regulatory ncRNAs. The expression of thousands of genes is regulated through ncRNAs and this regulation can take place in either cis or trans. NcRNAs must be integrated into regulatory networks for the identification of molecular driver events. The two largest members of the ncRNA family, which includes long non coding RNA (lncRNA) and micro RNA (miRNA), play significant regulatory roles in gene expression. They are also involved in a variety of physiological processes including programmed cell death. This book unravels the recent studies on non coding RNA biology. It attempts to understand the regulation of non coding RNAs. For all those who are interested in ncRNAs, it can prove to be an essential guide.

Buch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book provides a comprehensive overview of non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), a critical but often overlooked component of our genetic material. It sheds new light on the functional significance of ncRNAs in gene regulation, epigenetic regulation, development and differentiation, cellular processes and disease pathology. The book follows a logical structure, beginning with chapters introducing ncRNA classifications, biogenesis pathways, regulatory roles and recent advances in functional analysis techniques. The main part discusses their role as therapeutic targets and provides the reader with case studies highlighting the importance of ncRNAs in specific biological processes or diseases. Finally, the book concludes with an outlook on future directions and challenges in ncRNA research.Because of its scope and thorough introduction, this book is intended not only for researchers in molecular biology, genomics, transcriptomics and epigenetics, but also for students and related disciplines. It provides a holistic understanding of ncRNA biology, their contributions to gene regulation and role in health and disease.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Natural antisense transcripts: The human genome sequencing projects revealed that the human genome consist of over 3 billion DNA base pairs, but only contain 20,000 25,000 genes that are encoding proteins. Recent studies have revealed that eukaryotic genomes are almost entirely transcribed, generating an enormous number of non-protein-coding RNAs. Several classes of functional non-protein-coding RNAs have been identified in recent years. One prominent and complex class of regulatory RNAs is natural antisense transcripts. Mammalian genomes encode numerous natural antisense transcripts, but the function of these transcripts is not well understood. Functional validation studies indicate that antisense transcripts are not a uniform regulatory RNA group, but instead belong to multiple categories with some common features. Recent evidence presented in this book indicates that antisense transcripts are frequently functional and use diverse transcriptional and post- transcriptional gene regulatory mechanisms to carry out a wide variety of biological roles.
