No Jacket. 12th edition, no date but assumed to be around 1942, wear to covers and spine, surface of covers grubby and faded, cover board weakened but not broken through center, internally in good condition, pages crisp and clear but slightly yellowing, small water mark on top right corner of pages 81 - 100, due to it being a war time publication, there is a note warning that it does not contain all the maps, frontis map present and in reasonable condition, rip below the hinge into the map 5cm, map of the Derbyshire Dales missing, maps of Dovedale and Castleton present and in good condition.

Soft cover. Condition: Good. Three guides from the 1920s or earlier, one, Newquay, might be from the 1940s (and has 2cm closed tear on its spine). These Ward, Lock guides are a trip back in time to days gone by with their wonderful old photographs and vintage advertisements for things like Dr Scott's Pills for Bilious and Liver Complaints, Roach's Sea-Sickness Draughts, Viko's Insect Destroyer, Dr Jimmy Collis Browne's Chlorodyne, the Voltaire Self Generating Electric Cycle Lamp, Mackintosh's Toffee de Luxe, the Temperance Permanent Building Society, Jackie Mothersill's Seasick Remedy, Furniss's Motor Char-a-Banc Tours, Kolynos Dental Cream, Goerz Tenax Cameras, and many more. The famous red card covers have some wear but are in good condition for their for their age, edges are tanned, pages clean save for occasional spotting or the odd pencil mark, bindings are tight, all b&w and/or colour fold-out maps are intact as best we can tell, some pages folded over.
