Orig. published in 1947, this is a later printing (c. 1960s) & a Book Club Edition (c. 1959) of that First Edition, with Rudolf Flesch review on back cover. With brightly colored, illustrated matte paper over boards, this oversized hardcover is in just Fair condition: though generally clean inside, former owner's name appears thrice in front matter, & the image on first page of text has been outlined in crayon. Some pages show dark spotting to fore edge side. Sewn binding is strong & straight, but with tearing at both ends of spine. Rubbing to all extremities & heavy bumping/paper loss at all corners/spine tips. No DJ.
