A young fisherman imagines the wonders that might swim up from the sea into McElligot's Pool, in Dr. Seuss's second picture book and a Caldecott Honor title. McElligot's Pool, written and illustrated by Dr. Seuss and published by Random House in New York, copyright 1947; this copy is the Book Club Edition, as stated on the dedication leaf. It is one of the six Dr. Seuss titles withdrawn from publication in 2021, so no new copies are being printed. This hardcover copy in glossy pictorial boards (no dust jacket, as issued for this edition) is in Good condition. The front board is bright with minor corner wear and the interior pages photographed are bright and clean, but the back board has a tide line water stain along its spine edge and a red underline beneath the words I predict in the printed quote on the back, both clearly shown in the photos. Great find at a great price! Please note the S&H charges, which include USPS postage, materials, and handling. Pictured bookends are not included in the sale.…
