Hatvanys Lebenswerk eröffnet für die Forschung mehrere Perspektiven, die nicht allein im Erkenntnisinteresse der ungarischen Literaturgeschichte liegen. Betrachtet man die deutschsprachigen Zeitungsveröffentlichungen, die eigenen Buchpublikationen und deren zeitgenössische Kritik, so kann man ein breites Netzwerk von Akteuren aus der deutschsprachigen Presse (Ludwig Hevesi, Samuel Saenger, Moritz Heimann, Maximilian Harden, Franz Blei, Theodor Wolff, Rudolf Olden), dem Verlagswesen (Julius Zeitler, Samuel Fischer) und Theater (Paul Cassirer, Eugen Robert) rekonstruieren.
