Hardcover. Condition: Used; Good. The purpose of this book is twofold, to send you to Devon, and when you get there to help you to see it. Those who have never been to the county avoid it for two reasons. They are afraid that it is overcrowded; they are afraid that it has been overpraised. They are wrong on both counts. There is too much of it for it ever to be overcrowded. Its scenery is too varied and our ordinary vocabulary too limited to allow of over-praise. Glorious Devon, is an excellent vintage book that will take you on holiday from the comfort of your reading chair. Title: Glorious Devon Author: S. P. B. Mais Publisher: Great Western Railway Publication Date: 1928 Format: Hardcover Condition: This book is in a fair condition for its age. The covers and spine are worn and have markings. The pages are yellowing and have age spots. There are some notes throughout the text but they aren't intrusive.

Mais, this work serves as both a historical record and an invitation to explore the rugged coastlines, rolling moors, and charming villages of the West Country.
