The book features exactly 50 miniature chess diagrams alongside their solutions. Every puzzle challenges the reader to find a forced checkmate for White in exactly two moves. Composed "mate-in-2" problems differ significantly from tactical puzzles found in real games. In Wenman's collection, you can expect the following structural patterns: The first move (the key) is rarely an obvious check or a heavy capture. Instead, it is usually a quiet, subtle waiting move or a positional adjustment that creates a "Zugzwang" (forcing the opponent into a detrimental move) or sets up a discovered checkmate. : After White's first move, Black is left with several possible defensive responses. The beauty of the problem lies in the fact that every possible move Black chooses will inadvertently open up a completely unique second-move checkmate for White. Condition: Corners bumped, edge wear else a very good copy.
