Gift inscription reads: Philip H Grierson with Aunt May's love December 25th 1868. Illustrated throughout with small engravings. Brown cloth blind stamped and with title set in gilt medallion on front panel. Rear panel loosening and book block shaken but binding holds. All page edges faded gilt. Pages tanned and fingered but foxing appears only on first and last few pages. All our UK orders are sent by First Class post. All profits to Amnesty International. Size: 9.2cm - 14.2cm with 72pp.

Undated, possibly circa 1860s, this is a nice chapbook printing of Isaac Watt's Divine and Moral Songs for Children, bound in the original printed wrappers, 4.75 inches tall approx., 47 pages, illustrated with a frontispiece, some creasing wear, foxing to opening and closing few pages, there is a small hole in the rear cover that also affects the final page of text (pictured) else in acceptable condition. No end-papers issued, paste-downs generally clean but 2 short words and v. sm,brown square top fr. and traces of erased penciling top back plus short thin brown 3.5 cm strip across bottom from gutter. First published in 1715 this now appears to be remarkably scarce. It includes, Song XX, the famous, and famously arodied by Lewis Carrol the verses beginning 'How doth the little busy bee/ Improve each shining hour'.
