The book in question considers the aborted project under Roman emperor Julian (361?363 C.E.) to rebuild the Temple at Jerusalem. Emperor Julian has been called "Julian the Apostate" for having reversed Emperor Constantine's Christianization campaign and by supporting the revival of "traditional" Roman religious practices.
