Leather boards with gilt patterning at the margins. The spine is really rubbed and frayed in places; with some of the binding material revealed in the absence of the surface le…ather (main image). Likewise, both boards are very rubbed; especially along the joints with the spine. The binding is a loose to the extent that the front board is detached from the book block, but present. The first endpaper is completely detached - see image which also shows an ink inscription on the following attached endpaper. Internally, there is generally mild to moderately tanning but the text and bill of fare tables (image) remain clear and crisp. pp. xvi, 696. The publication date is taken from the end of the book's dedication to Mrs Thomas, Hotel, Berkeley-Square: Sept 1, 1807.
