L'opera Macchiette, è una raccolta di sette racconti scritti dall'autore toscano nell'arco di vent'anni, cosi veniva definita l'opera in Le livre, 1880 Beatrice Speraz : Collodi è uno scrittore molto ingegnoso, pieno di ispirazione e di umorismo.
