Illustrated with color plates and text decorations by Ernest H Shephard. One of the 12 color plates stated on the title page is not found in this copy. There is no sign that it was removed. Clean decorative library binding with title and author in gilt on the spine. Light foxing on the top edges. Spine is slanted. Binding is firm. A two inch closed tear on p.68 has been repaired with library tape. There are small closed tears on the bottom edges of pages along with smudges from little fingers , but the text , plates and decorations are generally clean and unmarked. 210 pp. …

The charming eighth edition of The Christopher Robin Verses, being the combined volume of the two bestselling children's poem anthologies 'When We Were Very Young' and 'Now We Are Six', written by classic children's author A.A. Milne. Published in 1950, with the first combined edition published in 1932. In the publisher's original red cloth. Contains a colour frontispiece, and all eleven other colour plates, and in-text illustrations by Milne's prolific collaborator Ernest H. Shepard, who also illustrated Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willow series. 'When We Were Very Young' was the first work of Milne's to allude to Winnie the Pooh, with the thirty-eight poem 'Teddy Bear' containing the first illustration of the iconic bear.
