Apparently a serial publication, from the author's student years at Brown University, the entire output recorded as running through three numbers, although the American Antiquarian Society has also accessioned copies of #4 and #5. By the early 1840's, the… author had settled into his professional career as physician, with a practice at 124 North Main Street, Providence. He had published in the Boston Medical and Surgical Journal, authored LECTURES ON DRUNKENNESS (1837) and AN ESSAY ON THE HUMAN COLOR (1845), which comprised an early anthropological essay on human pigmentation. His best known title was the popular and successful NEW ENGLAND POPULAR MEDICINE, which experienced four editions between 1848 and 1856. AMERICAN IMPRINTS 3237. SABIN 81669.
