    Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This was Arnold Haskell's own copy with his bookplate specially designed by Michael Ayrton. Woodcut illustrations by Kay Ambrose. The author was Ballet Director/Head Master at the Royal Ballet School and was married to Alicia Markova's sister Vivienne. He also started the Carmago School with Ninette de Valois in 1930. This copy a true 1st edition (it was reprinted in 1945) has a very good wrapper with minor edge rubbing and pale blue printed soft card wrappers in fine condition, the edges of the paper have browned a little, 16 sepia photos all very good. Unique copy owned by author. 220 pages + 4 pages of adverts at rear. *The Michael Ayrton bookplate (one of 2 he designed for the author) is dated May 7th 1972. about 2 years before the artist died aged 54. It incorporates his famous Minotaur sculptures on paper. (Nice addition to the book). Kay Ambrose. (illustrator). Owners own copy.
