ISBN: 9780805846348 - Automated Scoring of Complex Tasks in Computer-based Testing (18 results)

Hardback. Condition: New. Edited by David M. Williamson, Robert J. Mislevy and Isaac I. Bejar, this collection examines how computers can score complex test tasks such as simulations, extended performance assessments and written responses. It opens with an introduction by the editors and then sets out the concepts, terms and basic models of evidence-centered design, which serves as the framework for the volume. A chapter on human scoring is followed by chapters on particular methods, each shown in use in an operational assessment. These include a regression-based procedure for scoring a complex medical performance assessment, testlet response theory, Bayesian networks for computerized simulation tasks, artificial neural networks, and linguistic analysis of textual responses. A closing chapter considers validity and how automated scoring can be built into a test system driven by its construct from the start. Feel free to ask for photos or more detail.…
