Centered on the figure of Nicolas Perrot d'Ablancourt, Protestant writer in the service of the King of France and Richelieu, who was one of the first members of the French Academy , at a time when all seemed forgiven to the Reformed Protestants under the monarchy, he inventories the abundant work of a translator or rather adapter, in turn of Tacitus, Arrian, Xenophon, Caesar, Lucian and finally Thucydides.
