Hermann Zondeck (1887-1979) studierte in Göttingen und in Berlin, wo er 1912 promovierte. Nach kurzer Tätigkeit an der Freiburger Kinderklinik war er von 1913-1926 Assistent an der I.medizinischen Univ.-Klinik in Berlin und ist hier seit 1936 ärztlicher Direktor des Krankenhauses am Urban. 1918 habilitierte er sich in Berlin für innere Medizin (1922 a.o.Prof.). Nach 1933 mußte er wie ein Drittel der Ärzte an der Berliner Medizinsichen Fakultät die Hochschule verlassen. Seine Arbeiten beziehen sich auf das Gebiet der Herz-, Nieren- und Stoffwechselkrankheiten und der inneren Sekretion. Fischer, p.1728 Garrison & Morton No.2849: "Myxoedema heart" first recorded.
