Light speckling to covers, contents generally foxed as is common with this edition, pencil notations in margin on several pages, front inner hinge neatly reinforced, else G+. The author says he was born in Cape Vincent, New York in 1849 and ran away at age 14. He had many interesting adventures in the west, claiming to have known Calamity Jane and to have been present when Wild Bill Hickok was killed. Howes 27. Six Guns 2466. Adams finds many discrepancies, but who can say whether the author was lying or just forgetful.
