In diesem dritten Zugang werden drei Studien dargestellt. In der ersten Studie "Die Wirkung der Lernumwelt "Deutsche Hochschule" auf das akademische Lernen ausländischer Studierender" wird anhand einer Stichprobe von Gaststudierenden der Frage nachgegangen, welche Lernumweltbedingungen an deutschen Hochschulen den Lernprozess positiv beziehungsweise negativ beeinflussen und welche Konsequenzen daraus zu ziehen sind. In der zweiten Studie "Die Wirkung von Lernumwelten auf das akademische Lernen im Lehramtsstudiengang" wird anhand dreier Stichproben von Lehramtsstudierenden in Deutschland, Australien und Griechenland mit Hilfe eines zuvor entwickelten Instruments zum einen der Frage nachgegangen, wie diese Studierenden ihre Lernumwelt wahrnehmen und zum anderen, wie diese mit motivationalen, emotionalen, kognitiven und metakognitiven Faktoren des Lernens zusammenhängen. In der dritten Studie "Die Wirkung der Lernumwelt auf die Emotionen in einer Lehrveranstaltung - Eine Fallstudie" werden die Studierenden einer Vorlesung bezüglich ihrer emotionalen Veränderungen im Rahmen einer Lehrveranstaltung im Hinblick auf die Lernumweltbedingungen, die diese herbeiführen, analysiert.
