Designed as a follow-up to preprimer level and is appropriate for Kindergarten, early 1st grade. RCL (Resources for Christian Living) Benziger is a Roman Catholic book publishing house founded by Joseph Charles Benziger, in 1792, in Einsiedeln Switzerland. It is currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio, and now operates as a subsidiary of Kendall Hunt Publishing. This primer book is from the Reading Metro Edition series, which was widely used from the late 1960s through the 1970s, and is now out of print. The Reading Metro Edition of The Benziger Readers was divided into 9 levels: Readiness. Preprimer, Primer and Levels First through Sixth. The 1st three levels were for Pre-School through Kindergarten. Ten illustrators were credited for work in this book: * Carlos Alfonso * B.J.Billups * Dick Cody * Muriel and Jim Collins * John Everds * Tak Murakami * James Plaisted * Arnold Roth, and * Thornton Utz. Hardcover has full color illustrated cloth boards, but no dust jacket. Heat wrinkle in front cover. Retired from an elementary school, ownership inside front cover with some detail neatly x-ed out.
