First Edition Signed
1st edition. Hardcover. Very good boards, endpapers and pages, trifling spotting in places, in a very good, unclipped, slightly browned dustjacket. Signed on the fep by Alan Moray Williams and inscribed to two friends, Robert and Betty. The two editors chose and translated 60 war poems, including work by the Stalin Prize winners from the preceding three years, to represent the best of Russian contemporary verse. An interesting and unusual book, also with a loosely inserted, 4-page printed poem, 'Ploughman God', by Robert the Rhymer, aka Alan Moray Williams, who has signed his name below.
