"The student poets here include Archibal MacLeish (1892-1982), FDR's Librarian of Congress, Harvard professor, and award-winning poet; Henry Robinson Luce (1898-1967), founder of Time, Life, Fortune, and Sports Illustrated magazines; John Chipman Farrar (1896-1974), founder of Farrar, Straus and Giroux; and Thornton Niven Wilder (1897-1975), playwright of 'Our Town' and novelist. This copy was owned by Henry Emerson Tuttle, an American artist known for his drypoint etchings of birds. He received formal training at Yale University and the Slade School, London, and created his first published drypoint engraving in 1925. Between the 1920s and 1940s Tuttle taught at at the Groton School and Yale University, was curator of prints at the Yale University Art Gallery, and served as the first master of Yale's Davenport College.".
