Auch auf die Gefahr hin, eine Blasphemie zu begehen, wird mir wohl jede/r in der Branche zustimmen, das Der Wichtl" die Bibel der Apothekerschaft ist, was Phytopharmaka betrifft. Das Werk ist vollständig, was die in der Apotheke notwendigen Pflanzendrogen (diese Rezension richtet sich an das Fachpublik…um, für alle Anderen: Pharmazeutisch gesehen ist eine Droge ein Pflanzenteil, welches pharmazeutisch genutzt wird. Was hinlänglich Droge genannt wird ist bei uns ein BTM) angeht. Die Indikationen beschränken sich auf wissenschaftlich fundierte, ohne jedoch die volksmedizinischen unerwähnt zu lassen. Alle Monographien sind einwandfrei und in ihren Methoden für das Apothekenlabor und die Offizin geeignet, inclusive der über Pasta Theobromae (Tipp: unbedingt nachlesen). Der Wichtl" gehört genau wie einige andere Standardwerke der Pharmazie zu den Dingen, für meine Apotheke so wichtig sind, wie der Türschlüssel: Ohne würde ich meine Apotheke nicht öffnen können. Zum Abschluss noch ein Hinweis an den Laien: Der Wichtl" ist ein reines Fachbuch, und ist kein Teebuch in dem Sinne, das man nachschlagen könnte, welchen Tee es gegen Schnupfen-Husten-Heiserkeit gibt! Für Laien gibt es besser geeignete Bücher, die auch as Budget nicht so belasten. Das Buch enthält wissenschaftlich fundierte Angaben über Inhaltsstoffe, Indikationen und Prüfung von 191 Drogen, die als Teedrogen oder zur Herstellung von Phytopharmaka verwendet werden. Sowohl die Indikationsangaben der Kommission E als auch die Texte der Standardzulassungen sind wiedergegeben. Der Leser findet Hinweise auf Synonyme, Herkunft der Drogen und ihrer Stammpflanzen, auf Verfälschungen und eventuelle Nebenwirkungen. Im allgemeinen Teil wird auf Fragen der Teepräparate, der Teebereitung, der Aufbewahrung und Haltbarkeit, der mikrobiellen Kontamination und der Belastung durch Umweltchemikalien und radioaktive Stoffe sowie auf Besonderheiten der Phytopharmaka eingegangen.
