This copy is bright, tight, white and square. There is a neat dated inscription to the f.e.p. The price clipped dust wrapper has some spotting…and some mild edge wear so best described as near fine condition. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. This edition is a facsimile of the 1860 illustrated edition which in addition to the engraved illustrations also includes some of White's poems, a biography, and a naturalist's calendar. With graphic descriptions of the flora and fauna of South America. Written by Walter G. White, an English clergyman and author. Dated from the British Library. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading and a small puncture mark to the spine resulting in a closed tear to the cloth. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound with frontispiece loosening slightly. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Pencil inscriptions to the front endpaper and the odd page. Age toning to the endpapers with a small tear to the front endpaper. School library bookplate to the front pastedown. Good. Bell took a very keen interest in White and he edited two volumes of the 'Natural History and Antiquites of Selborne' publishing it in 1877. Bell discovered rare natterjack toads under grass in the Ha-ha at The Wakes.
