Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. This is the second volume of essays and articles on enlightenment and the Enlightenment Intensive from the archive of Charles Berner. It spans the years from 1969 through 2005. I heard Berner say many times that his understanding of Truth evolved as his meditation experiences unfolded. He would advise "If you want to understand what I understands now, then you should look to my latest writings." These essays are placed in a chronological order so you can appreciate the evolution of his understanding. The book begins with a Forward written by Edrid who began his studies with Berner in the early 1960's. Edrid's first-hand recollections of Berner's universe and the beginning formulation of the Enlightenment Intensive is insightful and revealing. Chapter 1 is an article that first appeared in 1969. It is one of Berner's earliest writings on the subject of self enlightenment and the Enlightenment Intensive. Chapter 2, What Is and Is Not Enlightenment, was the first chapter of The Transmission of Truth, published in 1977. Chapter 3 is a first-person account of the experiences of a fictitious individual, Alan B. Dow, who attends an Enlightenment Intensive for the first time. Chapter 4, entitled, Charles in Enlightenment Land was originally a lecture given at an Enlightenment Intensive in the 1970's. Chapter 5, Levels of Enlightenment and Advice On How To Do The Enlightenment Technique, was also a lecture that Berner gave during a long Enlightenment Intensive in the early 1970's. Enlightenment is the title of Chapter 6. It is excerpted from the 2005 book, Consciousness of Truth. Bill Savoie wrote the final chapter entitled, About Charles Berner. In his essay Bill shares his experience and insights about Charles Berner and those early days from which the Enlightenment Intensive was formed. This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Relating and Spiritual Consciousness is an inspirational book on how to improve your life through communication and understanding. It's author, Charles Berner, was a teacher and leader in the field of personal improvement and spiritual growth for over half the 20th Century. He created the Institute of Ability, Mind Clearing Programs, and the Enlightenment Intensive which is a process used world-wide to seek the truth by conscious, direct knowing of who you truly are. Berner taught that relating is the central activity in your life and spiritual endeavor. In the thirteen chapters of this book, i.e., Love, Reality, Improving Communication, Acknowledgement, Criticalness and Self Inspection, Facing the Crisis, etc., Berner describes the principles of effective relating for creating an awakened spiritual consciousness while also giving down-to-earth practical exercises for improving your ability to relate with more compassion, understanding and love. Throughout the book Berner's focus is on helping people develop more ability to live a life of choice and authenticity. The primary method he advocates for helping people to relate more deeply is through communication. He offers specific communication exercises for dissolving the varied psychological, emotional and spiritual barriers that stop people from achieving what they want in life. Berner's philosophy is that to fulfill the purpose of life you have to move in the direction of improving communication and understanding between between yourself and other. Berner wrote: "You are God and each person is God. Each person is a separate god from the other. This accounts for why, even though you are God, you can't always get your way in Life. If the other person is a God, then you as a God cannot force your will upon the other. The entire activity of Life is the project of working things out between all the individuals, each of whom is a God. All the problems we are having in Life are formed as a result of trying to reach understanding between Gods. We are related only by choice. This choice is called Love. We are related only through communication, the transfer of thought from one God to another." This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. You, God, Love, Life: Principles of Self Transformation first began its life as a self development program that Charles Berner put together in the 1960's and 70's. It was created from a collection of talks, essays, study questions, exercises and meditations that Berner organised into a program of sequential lessons for improving the life skills and spiritual development of his students. He called the program The Fundamentals of Life. This book essentially is that program edited into this published format. Berner begins by telling the readers that the ideas and practices he will be presenting will be "a voyage of discovery about yourself and life. You will find it the most exciting and rewarding voyage you have ever taken." Berner suggests that it is best to not "become too serious" but to investigate with sincerity. Berner never demanded a blind faith in respect to his teachings. He always counselled and encouraged self reflection and personal direct experience rather than following a belief system, philosophy or religion. "In my teachings I do not ask for belief nor do I recommend it. In fact I discourage it," he writes. "Either a person knows something and is sure of it or not. Teachings do not function properly when they rest on a foundation of belief. Teachings function properly only when they rest on a foundation of understanding. I want you to understand what I am teaching and have it make sense to you." This current volume is organised into twenty eight chapters divided into five main sections: Theology, Life, Help, Communication, Problems. Theology is the first section. Berner explores the idea of what God is and the evolution of those ideas. He acknowledges at the start that the "primary, number one idea at the core" of the entire book is that "You are Divine." Berner isn't content with simply making that statement but goes on to explain what he means theologically, spiritually and in practical terms with respect to what your are and your relationship to the divine. He writes that your basic nature and God's nature are the very same: "One, that you are conscious." "Two, that you have free will." And three, "that your basic nature is spiritual." Berner brings each chapter to a completion with a set of study questions that highlight the principles of that particular chapter. For example here are a couple of study questions in section one: "What things did primitive man worship as God?" Or "How can you be Divine if everything is not perfect in your life?" Additionally Berner usually includes several active self reflective exercises or meditations to help you master the principals of that chapter. For example: "For one minute think of what God is. Write your observations in your journal." Or, "Get the idea that others exist. Write your observations in your journal." "Now get the idea that others do not exist. Write your observations in your journal." This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
