Hardcover. Quarto, Two volumes (xxiv, 320 pages ; xi, 294 pages). In Fair condition. Spines are brown with gold print. Boards in brown/green cloth, blind stamped design, gold print. Tattering to spine caps and corners, toning to boards, blemishes, shelf wear. Text block has deckle edges. Light tanning to endpapers, intermittent spine breaks, frontispieces loose from binding, second volume has cracked hinges. Illustrated: b&w, sepia, some color, "With sixty-seven full-page plates and two hundred and fifty text illustrations" title page; plates accompanied by tissue guard sheets with descriptive letterpress.
